Otter.ai pricing depends on the plan, billing cycle and number of paid users. This guide compares published USD web rates and the limits that affect your choice, then shows transparent cost examples. Rates and terms reviewed October 13, 2026; examples exclude tax and separate promotions.
Otter.ai plans and published prices
The retained illustration below accompanies the plan comparison. Use the published terms and current order summary for the final amount due.

| Plan | Standard monthly billing | Annual monthly equivalent | Annual commitment |
|---|---|---|---|
| Basic | Free | Free | None |
| Pro | $16.99 per user | $8.33 per user | About $100 per user upfront |
| Business | $30 per user | $19.99 per user | About $240 per user upfront |
| Enterprise | Contact Otter | Contact Otter | Quoted terms |
Annual equivalents are not month-to-month charges. Approximate annual costs above multiply the published monthly equivalent by twelve and round; the invoice may differ slightly due to rounding, taxes or an applicable offer. A retained offer listing follows.
Basic, Pro and Business limits: what changes your choice?
| Requirement | Basic | Pro | Business |
|---|---|---|---|
| In-app recording minutes/month | 300 | 1,200 | Unlimited |
| Maximum conversation length | 30 minutes | 90 minutes | 4 hours |
| Audio/video file imports | 3 lifetime | 10 each month | Unlimited count; 6,000 imported-file minutes/month |
| Conversation history | 25 most recent | Unlimited | Unlimited |
| Workspace size | 5 members | 5 billed users | 25 billed users |
Otter notes that Basic and Pro transcription minutes use a shared pool across transcription types. Business unlimited in-app recordings do not mean unlimited imported-file minutes. Use the Basic and Business-trial guide if you want to evaluate a plan before paying.
Pro versus Business: choose by the constraint
- Choose Pro when its session length, total minutes, imports and smaller Workspace fit your use.
- Consider Business for longer sessions, larger teams, concurrent meetings or administration needs.
- If your main task is importing long recordings, compare the file-minute allowance separately from the number of imports.
Example: one 110-minute meeting exceeds Pro’s 90-minute conversation limit even if your monthly total is low. A team needing ten paid users also has a different requirement from a solo user. Neither case is solved just by finding a cheaper Pro coupon. Read the feature and suitability review for a broader decision checklist.
Team cost examples: one, three or five paid users
| Paid users | Pro monthly total | Approximate Pro annual total | Business monthly total | Approximate Business annual total |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | $16.99 | About $100 | $30 | About $240 |
| 3 | $50.97 | About $300 | $90 | About $720 |
| 5 | $84.95 | About $500 | $150 | About $1,200 |
These are arithmetic examples, not checkout quotes. Monthly totals multiply the standard per-user monthly price by paid users. Approximate annual totals use $100 per Pro user or $240 per Business user as rounded planning figures; check the actual billed seats and order total.
Annual versus monthly: compare the months you need
For three months, standard Pro monthly payments total $50.97. For twelve months, they total $203.88. Compare those figures with about $100 upfront for annual Pro. Business monthly totals $90 for three months or $360 for twelve; compare with about $240 annually. A lower annual monthly equivalent does not make annual billing the cheapest choice for every short project.
Billing, renewal and cancellation
Record the current user count, amount due, renewal date and any introductory period before purchasing. Subscriptions renew unless cancelled. Otter’s cancellation guidance says an owner or admin can cancel, paid access continues until the billing period ends, and cancellation should occur at least 24 hours before the next billing date. App-store subscriptions must be managed with that billing platform.
Education, nonprofit and other saving routes
Eligible individuals should compare student and teacher Pro pricing. Organizations should read the TechSoup nonprofit Business guide. For other routes, use the Otter.ai coupon and discount overview; if you already have a code, use the redemption guide. Program and introductory terms differ from standard rates, so compare the full term and renewal price rather than assuming they stack.
